Jon P. Otterstatter

Co-founder and President/CEO

Jon has earned a reputation as a creative, solutions-oriented leader and technology expert. His skills and commitment to excellence have brought high value to global enterprises while returning above-average value for the stakeholders.

Prior to co-founding Preventice, Jon served as executive vice president and chief technology officer for SPSS, Inc. Here, he guided the strategic direction, budget, personnel and daily operations for the company's worldwide Technology Operations.

Jon also served as senior vice president of technology for ShowCase Corporation in Rochester, and was a senior programming manager at IBM. Jon holds a Master's Degree in technology management from M.I.T. and a B.S. in computer science from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Mike Smith

Chief Technology Officer

After 24 successful years at IBM, Mike Smith joined Preventice as chief technology officer. In this role, Mike is responsible for the overall technical vision and direction of Preventice, and leads the design and development of the Preventice HealthGuardian Cloud platform.

During his tenure at IBM, Mike served as chief technology officer, received the Distinguished Engineer designation, and developed partnerships with Zend, Databorough, Information Builders and MySQL. Mike also served as chief software architect for IBM's i5/OS software strategy and planning, and led the ERP partner development for the AS/400. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Michigan Technological University, and an Executive MBA degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Kyle Dolbow

Executive Vice President of Field Operations

Since joining Preventice, Kyle has been instrumental in developing and nurturing strategic partnerships with leading health care and life science companies.

Prior to joining Preventice, Kyle was a vice president at Siebel Systems, where he was responsible for business development and operations of Siebel Professional Services in the Life Sciences and Financial Services vertical sectors. Following Oracle's acquisition of Siebel Systems, Kyle assumed similar responsibilities for Oracle North America Consulting. Kyle has also worked for Exxon Chemical, Hewlett Packard and Dendrite. He also founded, grew and sold York Laboratories, an environmental services company.

Kyle holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from M.I.T., a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Wooster, and has served as professor of chemistry at the College of William and Mary.

Michael Emerson

Senior Vice President of Marketing

Michael Emerson has a 25 year career of leading successful marketing organizations that have driven the success of technology startups. He was the CMO of Aprimo, which doubled its revenue during his three year tenure there. Aprimo was sold to Teradata earlier this year for $525M dollars. He served as a General Manager for a CRM product line at Siebel, a $2B company that was sold to Oracle in 2005. He was CMO and Chief Product Officers for Protagona, a European based software and analytics company. While there, Protagona grew from 500K to over $25M in revenue and was sold to Doubleclick, a New York based company. In 2000, Protagona was recognized as the fastest growing company on the London Stock Exchange.

Mr. Emerson lives in Eden Prairie, MN where he has lived for the past 30 years. His wife of 32 years, is Kathleen Emerson and has two daughters and a son.

W. Drew Palin, M.D.

Medical Innovation Officer

As leader of business development and medical innovation for Preventice, Dr. Palin brings unique expertise and exceptional skills to the table. His experiences as a family practice physician and serial entrepreneur provides Preventice a unique combination of a practicing physician's perspective with a keen understanding of what is possible with today's emerging mobile and wireless medical sensor technologies.

Prior to Preventice, Dr. Palin founded several start-up companies including: Take Control, Competitive Edge, ThinkMed, and PointOne Systems. Most recently, Dr. Palin collaborated with Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania to develop All One Mobile, a Blue Cross company that developed a system to securely relay medical records to patients' cell phones.

Dr. Palin received his medical degree at Mayo Medical School and his undergraduate biology degree at Stanford University.
